As an artist and director of the Disrupt Disability Arts Festival in Dublin, Burns will share his experience of creating conditions in which people with disabilities can fully participate in creating and experiencing art. The conversation will draw both on Burns’ professional practice and on his lived experience as a disabled person. We will explore practical examples of removing barriers to participation in cultural life that you can apply in your own organisation or work. We will also discuss how accessibility measures can be funded and what creative opportunities emerge when accessibility is built into a project from the very beginning.About Alan James BurnsAlan James Burns is a neurodivergent artist, curator and producer whose work brings together audiovisual art and environmental themes.
