In a world where you have only 140 words a day, what would you say to the person beside you?
Oliver and Bernadette are in love. Then the Quietude Act changes everything. Overnight, every citizen is limited to 140 words a day - spoken, written or signed. Every word becomes precious while they try to decide what to say to each other, what to keep for themselves, and what to save for the world outside.
As the rules tighten, their relationship becomes harder to navigate, and the situation around them grows increasingly tense and unforgiving.
Can love survive when there are not enough words? Is it wise to make yourself vulnerable to another person in a world that that gets colder and fiercer every day?
